What to wear on moving day?

Choosing the right type of clothing can definitely be helpful when you’re moving. Picking the appropriate clothes will ensure you feel as relaxed as possible. You don’t need to add onto the pile of other problems you may run into during the moving process and on moving day itself. A lot of people worry about lots of different aspects of the move: will the movers do their job properly, will you need a warehouse Kuwait, will all your items arrive in one piece? These are just some of the questions you may be asking, but your outfit shouldn’t be something that’s giving you a headache when you’re moving. If you’re unsure about your outfit choice, here’s what to wear on moving day.

Comfort over style

The last thing you need on moving day is tight pants that stop your breathing and a shirt that isn’t practical for carrying boxes. Even if you hire some professional packers to help you out, you still need to be present and you will probably still be active. The best thing to go for when you’re choosing an outfit for moving day is a comfortable option. You should wear jeans that fit well and that aren’t too tight as you want to be able to move around freely, but you also don’t want to lose your pants in the process. If you don’t feel like wearing jeans, you can opt for sweatpants, shorts or leggings. Whatever you do, make sure you’re comfortable. Moving day isn’t a runway, you don’t need to impress anyone with a flashy outfit.

Baggy jeans and pink Converse
You definitely don’t need to wear the chicest outfit you own when you’re moving house. Just make sure you feel comfortable and good in your clothes.

When you’re choosing a shirt, you can’t go too wrong. Just make sure you don’t wear something that’s too big and baggy so that you don’t have to lift your sleeves up all day long. You should also avoid button-up shirts as they can feel restricting and they are a little bit too formal and dressed-up for moving day.

Old is better

Moving day will require you to be active, one way or another. Therefore it can be dangerous for your clothes. There are many ways you could rip or stain your clothes when you’re moving. That’s why you don’t want to wear anything precious or expensive on moving day. Your moving clothes should be comfortable, but also something you won’t regret potentially ruining. This doesn’t mean you need to pick the oldest items from your closet, but you definitely should stay away from the newest ones.

Materials to wear on moving day

Whether your moving day is snowy or sunny, you don’t want your clothes to make you sweat more than you need to. You also don’t want your clothes sticking to you and making you feel uncomfortable. That’s why you should go for natural materials.

  • Cotton shirts are always a good idea, whether you’re moving or going grocery shopping. They are soft, comfortable and made form a natural material.
  • Avoid polyester at all costs. Polyester will stick to your skin and make you feel way too warm. It won’t help with reducing stress.
  • Linen is another natural material that is soft and allows you to feel the breeze. If your moving day is in the summer, you can’t go wrong with linen.

Don’t wear jewelry on moving day

Keep your jewelry and valuable items safe in a box instead of wearing them on moving day.

Again, this isn’t the day for your most fashionable outfit.  On moving day you want to be dressed in something practical and sensible. Jewelry is a great accessory, but you simply don’t need it during the move. You don’t want to have one more thing to worry about. Simply pack all your jewelry into a box and keep it in a safe place. Once you say goodbye to your moving company Kuwait, you will wear it again. But, moving day can be detrimental to your jewelry collection if you’re not careful. Losing things during the move is a common mishap and you shouldn’t risk losing or breaking valuable items for the sake of looking fashionable.

Choose your shoes wisely

A pair of good shoes is a great pair of shoes to wear on moving day.
Just like your clothes, your shoes should also be comfortable when you’re moving.

Stay away from new shoes you are yet to break in. You will spend most of the day on your feet and in your shoes. Getting blisters is definitely not something you’re hoping for. You need your feet to be fully functioning, so you should go for some comfortable shoes. Wearing chunky boots, fancy shoes or flip flops simply isn’t practical. When you’re choosing clothes for moving day, the shoes are an essential part. Go for some comfortable sneakers, running shoes or a pair of shoes that you usually wear when running errands.

Wear layers and keep it simple

Layering your clothes is always a smart thing to do. When you’re moving a lot, being active and changing your location a lot, the temperature of the room can change and you need to be prepared. Make sure to layer your clothes when moving house to maximize comfort. Feel free to go for a T-shirt, but make sure to keep a cardigan handy in case it gets chilly. Also, don’t spend too much time thinking about your moving attire. Just keep it simple. For example, go for a classic combination of jeans and a T-shirt. That’s both the easy and the safe option and it will make sure you look put together, but you’ll be comfortable at the same time.

Now that your outfit is complete, you can move onto researching other things – from moving companies to freight forwarders in Kuwait. But all in all, choosing what to wear on moving day really isn’t that big of a problem. You just need to think rationally and be sensible.
